About Us
Grassroot Community Transformation(GCT)
Grassroot Community Transformation is a non-profitable community based organisation (CBO) founded in 2022 with registration number 472-2022. It is found in Bobi sub-county in Omoro district in Northern Uganda. GCT was founded to empower marginalized children and youths.It currently comprises of 8 volunteer youths who are highly commmitted and motivated in bringing positive change in the community.
Our Objectives
To empower the youths through vocational training.
To promote unity through cultural dances,games and sports
To advocate for equity and equality
To promote environmental conservation
To encourage inclusive education
Founder's background and motivation
I grew up from hard to reach rural community, in our family, my parents were undergoing absolute poverty that providing basic needs was a challenge. These affected I and other siblings, it reached an extent that my parents forced me to drop out of formal school due to unaffordable tuition. Later I was taken for vocational course, trained and acquired basic skills and knowledge.
I attendend a technical skills training and pursued certificate in institutional catering and hotel management, certificates in metal work fabrication from recognised institutions in Northern Uganda. I also obatined a diploma in bakery,diploma in coffee making(barista coffee specialty),diploma in hotel management and institutional catering from Munstar Campus in Germany.
This has empowered me for a better economic sustainability life. As a person who has faced the challenges and dealt with and with passion for social change, I want to empower my fellow peers through my organization Grassroots community transformation to overcome the social and economic challenges they are facing.
